Gitmodules Ignore Flag Not Honored? [message #892789] Fri, 29 June 2012 16:49 Go to next message

Hi,

I recently turned on the ignore flag (set to "dirty") in my .gitmodules file for all of my submodules. And, my submodules are now properly not listed as modified when I do a "git status" from the command line (unless there is a difference between the HEAD of the submodule and the commit recorded in the superproject).

However, when I try to do a commit using EGit, all of my submodules continue to be listed as candidates for a commit.

Is EGit ignoring the settings in .gitmodules? Is there some other way to get EGit to do what I want?

Thanks,
Tony

This option is not currently supported.

Can you please file an issue for supporting it to https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/ ?

Thanks
