We have a product which implement on eclipse. I notice that every time that user A open their workspace, it will have .lock file in his workspace. And when user B open user A's workspace, it will show a message that the workspace is in use.

However, I found that there are some situations that user A open the workspace for a long time (no close, no log off). And one day user B open user A's workspace. There is no the a message "the workspace is in use". User B can add/delete file and it effect to user A.

My question is the .lock file has an expiry date or not? Or eclipse has any logic to make this situation happen ?
