I have version Version: 0.7.100 of Eclipse Memory Analyzer and when I open
my heap dump I do not have the option to select the Snapshot window.

I do not see the option from the menu but I see it in the "AnalyzerSAP
Memory Analyzer: Basic Steps and Features Walk-through" pdf document.

Is a plug-in required to get this window or is it proprietary to SAP's
version of the tool.

Thanks,

Andrew Plata

Hi Andrew,

this is a really very old presentation. We have changed since then... :-)
but the basic building blocks should still be there.

"Snapshot window" you mean the window on the left side displaying total
size, number of objects etc? You should be able to open this window via
"View" -> "Snapshot Details".

If the window does not open, try deleting the "workspace" folder from the
"mat" directory (it stores the last window layout and this way you start
anew).

Other options have moved to the "Queries" drop-down menu in the tool bar
(over time, more and more queries were written). It's the one with the
blue cylinders.

Let me know what you are missing specifically. Then I can help better.

Andreas.
