No, I just tried it using WTP M5 with Apache Tomcat 5.0.29 and it
stopped on my breakpoints and made the local variables visible as
expected. The .deployables folder is currently required on Flexible
projects and to function properly I think you need to allow Eclipse
to Build Automatically. With that said, I did run into the same
problem at first when I had Build Automatically turned off--a Clean
and Rebuild of my Flexible project solved that.
So, if you have Build Automatically disabled, try cleaning and
rebuilding the project manually.
