This is a short $-per-hour job for an Eclipse guru to create a custom Eclipse IDE for a proprietary 4GL (Uniface).

You can work on this job from any location, part-time or full-time.

This is proof-of-concept only. We could just mock something up, but we want to prove that what we believe is possible is actually possible.

Project is to create a custom eclipse IDE:
- source code is in XML format
- read/write source code back into XML format
- display source code 'formatted'
- allow user to edit source code
- display language helpers
- trigger a compile (external tool)
- view compile results
- optional: graphical formatting of structured XML (diagramming)

The resulting mockup will be:
- available for public download
- available to view via a youtube demo video
- may be considered for a new Eclipse public project

The applicant will have:
- demonstrated ability to customize Eclipse
- demonstrated Java skills
- good communication skills (English)
- ability to manage their own work
- no knowledge of Uniface required

The plan is:

1. discuss requirements and rough feasibility, deliver:
- very rough idea of total hours required
- very specific number of hours required to scope and create project outline
2. create project outline, deliver:
- project outline
- very specific number of hours required to deliver proof-of-concept eclipse project
3. create eclipse project, deliver:
- proof of concept
4. post implementation review, deliver:
- very specific number of hours required for remedial work
- very specific number of hours required for further feature work (e.g.: diagramming)

Uniface is a proprietary 4GL used for rapid prototype and delivery of corporate database applications. We are NOT the vendor of this product. The company you will be working for are a change management company. We have many customers who use Uniface and our change management products. This is a proof of concept for how our tools and the Uniface 4GL can work together with Eclipse. No knowledge of Uniface or our products is required for the applicant - we will supply the necessary information.

Wow - I got 9 serious replies from this. That's about 9 more than I expected!
