[SOLVED] Ecore diagram editor missing in Eclipse 4.2? [message #875088] Tue, 22 May 2012 06:08 Go to next message

Hi,

I currently starting a new Plug-In project and I want to use Eclipse 4.2.

Unfortunately the graphical Ecore editor of Ecore Tools is missing in my installation of Eclipse 4.2M7.

The Ecore diagram editor is a very helpful tool and I would be sad if I have to miss it in Eclipse 4.2.

Can you help me? Where (and maybe when) can I get the Ecore diagram editor for Eclipse 4.2?

I have installed:
- Eclipse 4.2 M7 (Juno) Modeling Tools

Thank you very much for your help!

Stefan

Stefan,

I'm not sure it's by default part of the package. It should be in the
Juno update site and the model package has a discovery wizard where it
should appear; I think that's in the help menu somewhere.

Hi,

I have tried it again with a new copy:

I have downloaded the Juno M7 Modeling Tools package from Eclipse download page (www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/eclipse-modeling-tools/junom7) for Windows 32 bit.

Then I have created an "Empty EMF Project". When I tried to create a new Ecore diagram file, there is no wizard for Ecore diagrams. I also tried to create a new file with the .ecorediag extension. But there is no editor assigned with this extension.

In the "Install Modeling Components" there is no entry for Ecore Tools.

I have browsed the Juno update site and I have found the "Ecore Tools SDK" and the flag, that it is already installed. But when I go to "Help->About Eclipse->Installation Details->Features" there is NO feature "org.eclipse.emf.ecoretools"!

Maybe this helps you a little bit.

Thank you very much for help!

Stefan

We had an issue with the the packaging of EcoreTools in Juno up to M7. It has been fixed now and will be back in the package for the upcoming RC1.

In the meantime you can use the following update site to install EcoreTools :
