Hi,
I'm having some troubles with TPTP on AIX 5.3.
I've installed IBM java jdk 1.5 and eclipse 3.3, then gone through the europa
discovery site, and installed tptp 4.4.
I've imported my test projects from my windows machine, the I right click
on a tptp plug-in junit and select run > run as test (or run through launcher),
which brings up an agent controller unavailable error message (IWAT0284E).
Surely this should work out of the box, having installed through the update
site?
In any case, as the integrated agent controller doesn't seem to be functioning,
I thought I'd install a standalone agent controller on the AIX machine, but
there doesn't seem to be a version of this for AIX?
Does anyone have any suggestions for where I start searching for where the
problem lies?

I would expect, without knowing for certain, that you would experience
the same problems on AIX as on Linux, if it works on AIX at all. On
Linux, when installing TPTP through the update manager, setting of
execute permissions and symbolic link creation does not work (the files
do not have execute permissions and symbolic links are created as text
files). This results in Eclipse being unable to start the IAC
(Integrated Agent Controller).
An easy way to fix this is to install TPTP using the
downloadable .zip-files from the TPTP download page and unzipping them
using the unzip utility.

Hi Nicholas,
TPTP 4.4.x, including the Integrated Agent Controller (IAC) and Agent
Controller, is not supported AIX (see
http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/project_info/releaseinfo/4. 4/support.html#Workbench).
For remote test execution on an AIX machine,
download/unzip/configuration/run the TPTP 4.3.1 Agent Controller on the AIX
machine and run the tests from a different machine which is supported.
If you want to use the workbench on the AIX machine, you can attempt to
disable the IAC in the workbench (Window >> Preferences... >> Agent
Controller >> Integrated Agent Controller), download/unzip/configuration/run
the TPTP 4.3.1 Agent Controller, and run locally.
