Unable to launch AGR test suite using current workbench [message #114219] Fri, 05 October 2007 09:24 Go to next message

Hi!

I've upgraded to TPTP 4.4.0.3. Since I'm on Linux I've also resolved the
problems related to execute permissions and symbolic link creation
within the agent_controller sub-directories of the Linux specific ac
plug-in. Also, since I'm using Ubuntu Linux, I've fixed the issue
of /bin/sh being dash on Ubuntu and not bash as the ACStart.sh and
ACStop.sh scripts expect (but do not specify). Having done so, my IAC
works fine (or so it seems at least).

Now, the problem I'm encountering is that AGR test suites will not
launch from within eclipse (or from scripts) and fail with the message:

"IWAT4039E The Test Execution Harness reported the following
problems:Failed to retrieve the context that should be used to run the
test cases in"

If, however, I uncheck the "Use current workbench as context" and
specify the context of the test suite to be the equinox
launcher .jar-file of the exact same eclipse installation everything
works fine. Any idea why?

I also re-created the test suite after upgrading and also the whole test
plug-in but the problem persists.

Is it possible to direct the command line launch of tptp (using
ant-tptp.jar tasks) to use this jar-file without specifying it in the
test suite or to specify the jar file relative to some Eclipse variable
available when executing from the command line (I do not want absolute
paths within the test suite configuration)?

Also, each time I open an AGR test suite it is immediately marked as
changed (an asterisk is prepended to the editor name).

Any help will be appreciated.

Regards,
Alex

Hi Alexander,

Unfortunately, both problems appear to be defects, specific to your
configuration. We tested on SLES 10 with IBM Java 1.5 with success. Please
open two defects:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi?product=TPTP%20T esting

Component: Test.UI.AutoGUIUI

Thank you for taking the time to try this yourselves. I though it might
be a problem with TPTP as this wasn't a problem prior to upgrading. I'll
investigate further when time permits and either file bug reports or
report back here on my findings.
