I am running Eclipse Indigo (eclipse-jee-indigo-SR2-linux-gtk.tar.gz) on a RHEL5.4 VM with 8Gb RAM (almost 6Gb free). I have just installed it and needed to add SVN plugin, so I went to Help->Install Software and clicked Add->(Add Repository)->Archive
I got an open file dialog titled "Repository archive" and it has been spinning for over an hour while I wait to click on a path to select the downloaded zip file.

What to do about this?

As a follow-up, it seems the dialog NEVER gets into a usable state, and Eclipse needs to be forcibly killed.

Any other solutions to installing plugin from download?

Mark,

I wonder if you have "contact all update sites during install to find
required software" check marked. If the archive refers to update sites
that are large, or very slow to respond, that could be a problem.
