If I install something from an update site using p2, can I indicate
where I want the feature to go? For example, can I install EMF and
indicate that it should be pooled?

cheers,
Ian

I have the same question - how to install as "pooled features" - and how
to configure the location for the pool?
I want to separate the SDK and other plug-ins, so I can simply update
the new Eclipse milestones and organize the other plugins. I used
eclipseextension locations before, but with p2 there is no longer an UI
for that (and I want to try out the features of p2), so, how can we
manage the locations?

Thanks,
Teddy

Hi Ian,

Currently, everything you install from remote update sites is downloaded
into the bundle pool. There are a few bugs/enhancements open in this area
(possibly one filed by you?) however we don't currently have support for
downloading to an alternate location in M6. We still want to support the
"intent" of this use-case though so we'll see what we can do. You can
probably achieve what you want in the current build with dropins or links.
