I was looking at the
eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.tptp.test.auto.gui_4.3.100.v2007 05310943
plugin.xml file.

In the extension point widgetResolver section I deleted the
NonTrivialWidgetResolver entry, but when I restarted Eclipse and
recorded some tests, it was still being used.

Is this the wrong place to add/remove resolver defintions?

Hi Joel,
You will need to restart Eclipse with the -clean option:

http://help.eclipse.org/stable/topic/org.eclipse.platform.do c.isv/reference/misc/runtime-options.html?resultof=%22%73%74 %61%72%74%75%70%22%20%22%63%6c%65%61%6e%22%20
