dropping and clearing stashes - coming soon? [message #825129] Tue, 20 March 2012 13:56 Go to next message

Basic support for creating and applying stashes is fine but it really needs to include deletion as well: stashes by design are highly transient references. Is there some difficulty here I'm not seeing? I would have thought deleting a stash would be at least as easy as creating one, if not easier.

I plan on adding it soon, perhaps today.

There isn't a real difficulty here, dropping stashes just involves deleting a line from the stash reflog.

Excellent, thanks for the quick followup. The list of significant missing features continues to shrink.

I have pushed an initial JGit proposal for support dropping stashed commit here: https://git.eclipse.org/r/#/c/5393/

Once it gets in the EGit change should be simple and quick to get in as well.

Is this stuck in the review process or should it available in the latest nightly build? I'm not seeing it yet in the nightlies, maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?

It is reviewed, but needs to be rebased. Because of EclipseCon and the fact, that probably all EGit committers are there, i think it will be merged next week.

I just submitted the change to master. It will be available in the next nightly build.

At eclipseCon there is more time to do EGit stuff than during normal work time Wink
