I am very happy to announce that Alexandra Wozniak will be joining ORMF
as a committer. Alexandra studies computer science (3rd year) at Poznan
University of Technology and mathematics (1st year) at Adam Mickiewicz
University. She seriously started to be interested in programming about
5 years ago. She has been programming in Java for about 2 years, most
of the time using Eclipse, and she also knows other object-oriented
languages (C#, C++, Python). She has also done a little of socket
programming and relational databases. Sometimes she plays with
functional languages. During her computer science studies she became
familiar with some software engineering methodologies and now she
considers them her main field of interest. She is considering choosing
Software Engineering as a major for her masters degree.
Last summer she took part in Eclipse Summer School which was an
intensive training covering Eclipse as an IDE and as a platform. She
learned about SWT, JFace, EMF and GMF and she got started with Eclipse
plug-in and RCP applications development. She was impressed with
Eclipse's extensibility, the way it provides place for new features,
and she wants to dig deeper into it.
Thank you, Alexandra, I am sure you will add an enthusiastic young and
fresh perspective to our efforts and we look forward to playing with
you!
B.
