Eclipse doesn't save date modified? [message #8923]

This is strange, but it seems as though my eclipse (v3.2.1) isn't updating
the last modified field of a file after I save it. This is a problem because
SVN checks that field to see if a file has been recently modified before I
can commit or update. Since my files aren't (technically) being modified in
SVN's eyes, it wont commit. Is there an option/preference in eclipse that
disables the updating of the date modified field because I can't seem to
find it. Thanks for your reply!
