Hello everyone,
I read on a bug report (# 364631) that the 3.7.2 version of birt that has just been released would include a flag to disable dataset caching. I couldn't find it in the advanced properties of the dataset. Does anyone knows if it has effectively been implemented and where to find it?

Thanks

Hi!

I imagine it is the flag "Property Editor->Properties->Advanced->Needs Cache for Data Engine."!

Would be very interested if this feature is working for you!
(see also my forum entry http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/t/297115/)

I am not shure if this would get into this release. http://wiki.eclipse.org/BIRT_Project_Plan#BIRT_3.7.2
Bug is still not closed!

I upgraded to the 3.7.2 version and the feature is indeed implemented. I had a serialization problem that I no longer have.
Thanks for your reply!

Can you tell me which code is responsible for this new feature?

I think the flag "Needs Cache for Data Engine" is considered in the method "populateCachedDataSet" in the class EngineExecutionHints which has changed since the previous versions. But i'm not sure it's what your asking for.

Thanks! That's exact what i was asking for Wink

I checked the source you posted in the new version (3.7.2) too. It's the same method we manipulated thru Extension FactoryService mentionned in
http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/t/297115/

I start a new test for this issue today noon!

thx
Andi
