I wonder whether the core Buckminster developers could let us know what their plans are for Buckminster support in the releases scheduled for June 2012 - Eclipse 4.2 Juno and Eclipse 3.8 (not sure if there's a name).

Buckminster is not listed (at http://www.eclipse.org/projects/releases/releases.php?release=juno) as a participating in the 4.2 simultaneous release.

In theory (if my understanding is correct) you are supposed to be able to run a 3.7 binary in 3.8 and 4.2, but that's just theory ...

We love our Buckminster, and we'd like to know its available for when we do move on from 3.7!

Thanks

Hi Matthew,

We have every intention of making Buckminster available for Juno. Our plan is to ship in time for Juno M6.

Thanks Thomas. I'll grab it when available and provide some feedback.

Hello,

Good to know that Buckminster support will continue with Juno, I really like that tool too !

BTW, I raised two months ago a bug in Eclipse Bugzilla (bug 368042, I can not post the direct link here), since Buckminster 'emma' command seems broken for Java 7 code.

Does someone know if there any plans to fix that in a near future ? - There is not so much activity around that issue.

Thanks and best regards,
Bernard.

Hi Lorenzo,

You will find the latest Buckminster build for Juno (currently RC3) here:

http://download.eclipse.org/tools/buckminster/updates-4.2
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/buckminster/headless-4.2

A release that matches the final Juno release will follow shortly.

Regards,
Thomas Hallgren
