Hi

I switched from Eclipse 3.7 to 4.2.M5 and I really don't get how
perspectives work on the new Platform. The user doc has not changed and
still shows the 3.x screenshots, but behaviour is entirely different.

For instance:
- start in new workspace
- open debug perspective
- drag "debug" view to the far left
- switch back to the "java" perspective
> package explorer is gone
> debug view is there instead
> resetting perspective (won't restore everything btw)
- switch back to "debug" perspective
> "debug" view gone too

Somehow changes in the arrangement of views in one perspective have an
influence on other perspectives. As the behaviour is not limited to one
version (4.1.1 and 4.2.M5) or platform (linux and win32), I assume the
problem is not a bug but rather my limited understanding of how it
works...

Can please somebody explain how to rearrange views in different
perspectives in the way this was possible in 3.x times?

And no, I cannot live with the default layouts and view visibilites.

Thanks
Michael

This would clearly be a bug - please file on and describe how to
reproduce it (like you do below).
