Hi all,

I work with EMF in a non-Eclipse-plugin, maven-based project. Right
now, I fetch my few EMF dependencies

org.eclipse.emf.common
org.eclipse.emf.ecore
org.eclipse.emf.ecore.xmi

right away from Maven Central:

http://search.maven.org/#search%7Cga%7C1%7Cg%3A%22org.eclipse.emf%22

However, the versions available there are pretty outdated. Will they
ever be updated? Or is there some up-to-date maven repository providing
EMF technologies?

Thanks a lot,
Tassilo

Tassilo,

No, weren't not currently maintaining any maven-based repositories (that
I'm aware of).

would it be ok for the Eclipse/EMF project if I'd upload an inofficial
EMF artifact to some public maven repository?

E.g., I'd create an artifact org.eclipse.emf-2.7.0 containing the
currently released EMF jars I need with my personal groupID "tsdh".
Then one could add it conveniently as maven dependency
tsdh/org.eclipse.emf-2.7.0, and still it's pretty clear that it's
nothing official but just tsdh's stuff.

Bye,

Tassilo,

Of course, feel free to update the Maven repo!

Ok, cool. But all the 2.7.1 release download links at

http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/downloads/?project=emf

are dead...

Tasslio,

Yes, the website is sadly out of date. Can you pull it from the Indigo
p2 repo?

I have no clue how I'd do that. ;-)

Anyway, I simply clicked me thru the official eclipse download folders
to the 2.7.1 release, and now one can get the All-In-One EMF SDK 2.7.1
from here:

http://clojars.org/emf-xsd-sdk

And if some truck runs over me, here's the project for easily updating
the artifact:

https://github.com/tsdh/emf-xsd-sdk

There are some "newer" artifacts on Maven Central:
http://mvnrepository.com/artifact/org.eclipse.emf/

But it seems that the uploader is again "idle". Smile
Perhaps someone can find out who it was and ask him for uploading 2.9.x.

Hi John,
It is me (I think), I am able/allowed to upload 4 emf artifacts to sonatype (common, ecore, xsd and ecore.xmi) and then
publish those at search.maven.org. I guess these end up at the mvnrepository.com.

I do this also for the EMF Texo and the Teneo projects.

Triggered by your post I tried to update the EMF jars but I get some 'return code 400' error from sonatype. I entered an
issue at sonatype for this.
https://issues.sonatype.org/browse/OSSRH-7352

When I get some feedback there/more info I will update EMF.

gr. Martin

Hi John,
I released a new version to sonatype just now, they should be on search.maven.org in 1 day or so.

Hi Martin,

I don't think search.maven.org has been updated yet.

I just did an update in my Eclipse and it downloaded/installed 201310021216, but search.maven.org is still only at 20130401838.

Unfortunately the difference has caused problems because the newer jars are not compatible with the older jars so my ModelFactory classes are broken. Sad

Hello Mike,

are you using the right artifact and group id?
Searching for ecore on maven returns 2.9.0-v20130528-0742 (http://search.maven.org/#search%7Cga%7C1%7Ca%3A%22org.eclipse.emf.ecore%22).
There was a change between the ids (groupid http://search.maven.org/#search%7Cga%7C1%7Cg%3A%22org.eclipse.emf%22 and ecore artifact http://search.maven.org/#search%7Cga%7C1%7Cg%3A%22org.eclipse.emf%22%20AND%20a%3A%22ecore%22).

And you won't get the artifacts from 02.10., because Martin uploaded the files at 30.09. Smile

Hi Mike,
I only updated the EMF jars, but I saw your post and I uploaded now also Texo to sonatype and released the Texo jars to
search.maven.org. I am not sure when/how fast they appear on search.maven.org, I think it takes a day or so, maybe less...

@John, FYI, I also manage the texo project, a nice project providing EMF like code generation and JSON CRUD webservice
support for EMF webserver solutions:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Texo
