I've been using Eclipse for about a year now and not experienced any issues, that is until recently of course. I don't know if installing some Android plugins have anything to do with it, but I have since reinstalled Eclipse (without said plugins) and the same issue occurs.

I get the message:

could not find class: org.eclipse.jdt.internal.launching.support.LibraryDetector

when ever I create a new Java Project. Oh, and for some reasons all the usual Classes in the Standard Libraries are now coming up with errors in my source code:

If anyone can shed some light on this issue I would be very grateful.

Looks like a corrupt install to me. I suggest you do a fresh install from
http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/R-3.7.1-201109091335/index.php
or
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/

Thank you ! I had like mentioned already tried re-installing but was using the original installation file that I had downloaded a while ago.

Downloading a new copy has since cleared up the issue. Smile
