Hi Experts,

What is the protocol used for client and agent communication in TPTP?
Is it RMI protocol? If so can it be changed to support HTTP protocol?

Regards,
Krishna

Hi Krishna,

No, RMI is not used.
TPTP uses xml fragments transfer in a control channel and transparent data
transfer in a data channels.

Igor

Hi Igor,

I was referring to the following link and was wondering if TPTP uses
RMI protocol. Does TPTP has firewall issues? RMI has firewall issues so
I would like to use HTTP protocol. Is it possible to use HTTP protocol
for Agent and Client communication?

http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/platform/documents/design/framew ork/RMI_Overview.html

Regards,
Krishna

Hi Krishna,
This document describes old framework and is obsolete.
New technology Agent Controller doesn't use RMI and HTTP protocols.
It uses plain TCP/IP sockets for commands and data exchange.
Regards, Igor.
