Using Eclipse-3.7.1 Build id: M20110909-1335 with updates from eclipse.org,
on linux with xorg-server-1.9.5 and twm-1.0.7, I need help with using Content Assist.
As soon as I move my mouse over the Content Assist (CA) window, or off the Eclipse window, the CA window disappears. The left-right cursor keys have the same effect but other keys seem to work correctly.
The problem seems to be related to window focus, because if I manually set focus onto the Eclipse window, the CA window appears to work correctly, but then, even when I move the mouse to another widow I cannot do anything there until the focus on the Eclipse window has been manually released.
Normally I expect focus to follow the mouse. I've tried the same download of Eclipse under Gnome on someone else's machine and they did not have the same problems. So it may be related to my use of the twm Window Manager (I am old-school, I know!).
I have checked (and clicked Restore Defaults) on all Preferences
that seem rellevant, but to no avail.
Can anyone help me sort this out please?

Maybe you have your mouse driver pref is "focus follow mouse". This
would cause the window to auto-close.

Thanks for looking at this Dani. I'm using xf86-input-synaptics-1.4.0 for my Thinkpad T42 touchpad driver. It has no such option. My xorg.conf has no special option for this either. The window manager, twm-1.0.7, does not have NoGrabServer or NoTitleFocus turned on or any special bindings set up that I can see affecting this either.
I am new to eclipse but I've googled and searched this issue a lot and found several bug reports related to window focus in eclipse, but none exactly the same as this.
It would be great if it was simply a configuration problem, but no solutions so far.
Ted.
