So I've been using Eclipse for a while and I've always had this gripe but I'm using Visual Studio in school now and I've tried CodeBlocks and this is really bugging me about Eclipse... It's really freakin' slow!

in VS and CB the moment I stop typing a word it gets properly highlighted, in Eclipse it waits until I stop typing all-together to update everything I just typed. Same goes with code-completion popups, they come right up in VS and CB but in Eclipse it's so slow that it's faster to just invoke it myself with Ctrl+Space.

Is it supposed to be like that? Is there anything I can do to speed it up? I'd really like to stick with Eclipse but this is really bugging me and I might move my projects over to CodeBlocks if I can't get it to react faster.

Edit: I'm working in C++ If that matters.

You can control the auto activation display delay in the Preference pages.
