Hello Everyone,

First of all apologies for the vague nature of this post and I appreciate this may not in fact be an eclipse problem, but the symptoms do seem to be associated with running eclipse. Any help or advice even on where to start investigating the problem will be gratefully received.

Basically I start up eclipse and it all works fine, but after some period of time (could be an hour or more) my entire display freezes. No mouse, no keyboard, nothing. the only thing I can do is restart the machine.

My system is 64-bit Ubuntu 11.04. Can anyone suggest some log files or something to check so I can begin to start finding out what is going wrong?

Did you get resolution? I have the same problem:

ubuntu 11.04 x64
Eclipse CDT SR2 Indigo
Also tried Galileo which installed from ubuntu repository

Computer: Dell OptiPlex 990

I tried filling a bug but I think it got closed. Will try to find it again. Basically I up graded my laptop to something with more memory and a better graphics card and I haven't been troubled by this since. So now I am not even certain this was an eclipse issue in my case.
