I want to use a connection profile for my web app. I'm running weblogic 10.3.4. I'm deploying my app as a war file. I've got report templates on the server that will be used for report creation. If I use regular jdbc connection information for my report template, the report gets created fine. If I try to use a connection profile, i get the Unable to determine the default workspace location. Check your OSGI-less platform configuration of the plugin or datatools workspace path at .... What is the easiest way to go about setting up my weblogic instance to accept connection profiles or recognize them. I won't be using the report viewer. I just need the reports to be created server side and then I will give the operator the option to store them in the database. I was reading this link: http://wiki.eclipse.org/Birt_3.7_Migration_Guide#Connection_Profiles but I didn't know what to do. Do I need to set both of these? Quote:
For example, define the system property in a VM argument:
-Dorg.eclipse.datatools_workspacepath=E:/myworkspace/.metadata/.plugins
-Dorg.eclipse.datatools.connectivity_workspacepath=E:/workspace/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.datatools.connectivity

You should only be setting
-Dorg.eclipse.datatools_workspacepath=E:/myworkspace and the Weblogic
process needs permission to write to this directory. I am attaching a
report that you should be able to run in WL and see if the variable is
set. The report reports system vars.
