This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

It's me again ;)
I have a problem with what the Compare GUI is complaining. I have two
models with Connectors and its ConnectorEnds in it. The Compare GUI
complains that there are changes in "false". But what is "false"?
ConnectorEnds don't have names and I couldn't find any differences.
I would appreciate if anybody could compare my two models in the
attachment and explain where the differences are.

J.R.

Another thing that attracts attention is that in my TestModel.uml the
Property in TestClassA has a Type(int) and in my ReferenceModel it
doesn't. Well that's not the point - the point is that Compare doesn't
complain it. Is it a bug or a feature?

Jan,

I just installed a clean eclipse 3.3 (slightly more recent that yours,
build ID I20070625-1500) with EMF Compare RC2 to match your
configuration. I'm running this under linux but it should work under
windows too.

My comparison results with your two models do not show any of the two
problems you mentionned, neither the "connectorEnds have changes in
"false"" nor the undetected type modification as shown by the attached
screenshot.

The only thing I can think about for the problems you've described (both
here and in
http://www.eclipse.org/newsportal/article.php?id=3209&gr oup=eclipse.technology.emft#3209)
is that you have two versions of EMF Compare coexisting within the same
eclipse and conflicting with each other. The content type "Model File"
as well as the preference page "EMF Compare" did not appear long before
RC1 was built, and the problems you described here were corrected before
RC1 was released too.

You should try and install a clean eclipse with EMF Compare RC2 and
check if the bugs you've gotten so far are still reproducible. An other
solution would be to check the "plugins" and "features" directory of
your eclipse install and delete all jars and directories prefixed by
"org.eclipse.emf.compare" then cleanly reinstall it and launch eclipse
with the -clean flag.

Sheers.

Thanks for testing it. I'll try to install a complete new version of
Eclipse and EMF Compare as I couldn't find that there are two versions
of Compare. I only have the one I posted. It's very strange I think. Is
it possible that Compare conflicts with another Plugin?

Yes indeed, I think that installing a complete new clean version is the right thing to do,
you first need to make sure that you get the whole thing working properly, and then you
might be able to find out what's not correct in your current version.

As for Comparing conflicts with another plugin, that's a new project that you are talking
about, that would be a very useful one :-)
