It is possible to have the same workspace for two independent versions
of PDT (v1 and v2) on the same machine without any problem? Update of my
Eclipse Europe is impossible (PHP, C/C++, ...) and I want to try and use
new version of Eclipse and PDT plugin for my PHP projects.

You can share projects between workspaces by importing one into the other.

Why can't you switch from Eclipse 3.3 to 3.4? There's a whole new
version of CDT available too.

Because of errors in automatic update (it is not possible to update
Eclipse and all plugins via this function) - handly update is for me
worser solution - clean "install" of new version of Eclipse and its
plugins is better way for me and more secure - if it will not be any
problem I will remove old version of Eclipse of course - it is as
back-up for me. Thanks.

If all you use is CDT and PDT, I suggest getting a PDT All-in-one zip,
then using Update (the Ganymede site) to install the CDT stuff into it.

http://wiki.eclipse.org/PDT/Installation

If you use other plugins beyond those sets, you'll have to reinstall
them into you new eclipse too.

You can reuse your existing workspace, but do NOT unpack the new Eclipse
on top of the old one. Keep them in separate folders.

Yes - I did it like that (one backed-up workspace, 2 independent Eclipse
- Europe and Ganymede - both without problems - for the present). I have
installed PDT (all in one from Zend - with Zend debugger - I have
corrected error with version in xml file), CDT, TeXlipse, SVN
(Subclipse), Spell Checker etc. Thanks for help and speed of your answers.
