If all you use is CDT and PDT, I suggest getting a PDT All-in-one zip,
then using Update (the Ganymede site) to install the CDT stuff into it.

If you use other plugins beyond those sets, you'll have to reinstall
them into you new eclipse too.
You can reuse your existing workspace, but do NOT unpack the new Eclipse
on top of the old one. Keep them in separate folders.

Yes - I did it like that (one backed-up workspace, 2 independent Eclipse
- Europe and Ganymede - both without problems - for the present). I have
installed PDT (all in one from Zend - with Zend debugger - I have
corrected error with version in xml file), CDT, TeXlipse, SVN
(Subclipse), Spell Checker etc. Thanks for help and speed of your answers.
