Hello.

I accidentally deleted the eclipse launcher from my folder. And just before that, I had deleted the tar file. So I can't really recover from there. Googling hasn't led anywhere thus far. So, any idea how can I get my eclipse launcher back? or Do I have to re-downlaod and re-install eclipse?

My eclipse version is Galilio, for 64 bit Ubuntu.

Thanks for the help. Smile

If you only deleted the launcher, and not what you untar'd from the
original tarball, you're still good. Just re-create the launcher.

(So, to re-create the launcher, right-click on the desktop or top pane,
choose Create Launcher... or Add to Panel..., if latter, choose Custom
Application Launcher, type Eclipse as the Name, then click Browse and
navigate to the executable file, "eclipse" and click OK. If you want to
finesse the icon, click on the icon in the Create Launcher dialog and go
find one--it's in the Eclipse download.

To save you time, I've done this hand-holding...I don't mean to belittle
you. Hope it helps.)

Uhh...thing is, I deleted the executable that was extracted from the tarball, so can't just create re-create it.

Ah, well that explains it. Yes, you'll need to redo the download.
