HTTP recording doesn't work [message #90388] Fri, 15 December 2006 07:09 Go to next message

Hi,

When I want to create HTTP recording, the eclipse workbench seems hung up.
the message displayed in process view is: connecting to agent controller
on localhost/port 10006, after waiting for a long time, I have to shutdown
eclipse workbench, the thread seems blocked, I guess if the operation is
successful, a browser window should be opened.

I don't know why it blocks when connecting to the new agent controller,
which is already started.

I did the followings to setup my environment.

1) download TPTP 4.3 all-in-one bundle
2) download new agent controller and new java profiler, install new agent
controller as windows service.
3) download jvmti client and extract it to eclipse install folder
4) change settings in eclipse preference, for example, disable integrated
agent controller, change all local port from 10002 to 10006

The environment is clean and I have repeated several times but the error
still occurs, what's wrong with my settings?

Thanks!

Hi,

Did you follow all the instructions in the Getting Started guide of the
Agent Controller:
http://dev.eclipse.org/viewcvs/index.cgi/platform/org.eclips e.tptp.platform.agentcontroller/src-native-new/packaging_md/ windows/getting_started.html?root=TPTP_Project&revision= 1.3

Are you sure you have the agent controller set up on port 10006? The
default port is 10002.

Note that you don't need the JVMTI agent to work with the HTTP recorder so
downloading that from the technology preview section was unnecessary.
