I have Galileo installed on my Windows 7 system as of June 2010. The binary was eclipse-jee-galileo-win32.zip. The 'About Eclipse' dialog shows Build id: 20090621-0832.
For the past year or so, every time I start up Eclipse, I get a Windows security warning popup that says "The publisher could not be verified." with the publisher showing as "Unknown Publisher". Is there something I can do to get this popup removed upon Eclipse startup?

Thanks!

P.S. In addition (don't know if this is related, if not, please disregard), every time I get a "Java Update Available" and try to install, I get a "Failed to download required installation files." popup.

Both of those sound like Windows 7 getting in your way. Have you
searched the Eclipse bugzilla to see if anyone has reported the "unknown
publisher" issue? Maybe the Eclipse download packages can be signed in
some way to make Windoze happy...

Hi,

did you perhaps Unzip the package via the Windows Explorer, just by double=-click, and moving the 'eclipse' folder elsewhere ?
I have just found out that this was causing the same problem on my Win7 machine.

Please try to use eg 7-ZIP to extract the eclipse.

@moderator: something for a FAQ ?

gr, David

I'm replying to an old post, but got here by searching for the warning message.
Yes, using 7-zip fixed the problem (I'd forgotten the instructions about this).
Thanks.
