"install new software" hangs at 49% in Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers [message #780814] Thu, 19 January 2012 13:49 Go to next message

I have just installed the Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers on a Win 7 64bit machine. I have no previous experience with it, or any other Eclipse IDE.

I have just tried to "install new software", namely StatET's R plugin.

All seems to have gone well until the installation hung at 49%.

Thus, I wonder:

1. should I be using Eclipse for C/C++ as my base package in the first place?

2. is the install hang a known bug?

Thank you very much,

Colin

There's a known issue with Oracle JRE 7. Either make sure to update to
Oracle JRE 7 Update 2 or use Oracle JRE 6.
