Plugins vs Dropin directory [message #89884]

Hi dev,

I want to ask you how is the difference between plugins and dropin directory.

I want to update to lates 2.0.1M and now i see, that all pdt and it's dependencies are
installed in dropin directory

The best way to understand what is the dropins folder is to read
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Equinox_p2_Getting_Started

in general this was added in Eclipse 3.4 to give you a simple way to
add/remove plugins and features by adding and removing folders to this
parent folder.

I am not sure that it is the best practice for update though ;)
