Hello,

i tried the Tutorial with Eclipse Indigo as described in http://eclipse.org/gmt/epsilon/doc/articles/evl-gmf-integration/
In Step 5 is written "To validate this we go to the Diagram menu and select Validate (if you are running Galileo, the Validate option is under the Edit menu instead)."

My Problem is that i can't find the validate option in any menu. I tried this with the filesystem Example which i checked out from http://dev.eclipse.org/svnroot/modeling/org.eclipse.gmt.epsilon/trunk/examples/org.eclipse.epsilon.eugenia.examples.filesystem
with the corresponding .validate-project.
I had to delete the required bundle org.eclipse.emf.cdo to build a new editor from given Metamodel. But there wasn't a validate option too. Did i miss something?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Wolly

Well, i am searching for the "Validation Enabled" and "Validation Decorators" flags in the Gen Diagram as told in the EVL-Tutorial.

But unfortunately i can't find them neither in the Filesystem-Example (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/55349730/epsilon/NoValidationInGmfgenFileSystemProject.jpg) nor in my own project (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/55349730/epsilon/NoValidationInGmfgenOwnProject.jpg).

Am i looking at the wrong place?

Hi Wolly,

These flags should be available in the properties view of Gen Diagram under Gen Editor Generator in your .gmfgen. If setting them to true doesn't help (I suspect it won't as Eugenia does this by default) please send me a link to a zipped archive containing your code so that I can have a look.

Cheers,
Dimitris

Hi Dimitris,

thanks for ur help. It's really appreciated. Smile

i found the properties, which were set to false. They are not directly under Gen Editor Generator but in the Properties from Gen Editor Generator->Gen Diagramm xyzEditPart. Maybe the tutorial should be updated. I searched a lot :-S

Well, there is still a question about this: Why do i have to set it manually?

The tutorial sais "If you have not implemented your editor using EuGENia, before you start please make sure that you have turned on validation in your .gmfgen model.". I'm always using Eugenia and have a validation-project as described in the tutorial.
I also take one constraint from the tutorial just to be sure not to make a mistake in EVL.
It looks like that i missed one (simple) point. If i validate nothing seems to be happen... :-S

The zip-file with all projects is available under http://dl.dropbox.com/u/55349730/EclipseRCP.7z

Cheers,
Wolly
