Hello,
we´re using EPF-Composer 1.5.1.2 on Windows XP SP3 with Office 2003/2007/2010.
After we´ve released the latest Hotfixes and Patch from Microsoft for Office Suites and Applications and installed them,
i.e.
KB 2596785, Security Update MS Office 2007
KB 2596789, Security Update MS Office 2007
KB 2597035, Outlook 2003 Junkmail Filter Update
KB 2553084, Security Update Publisher 2003
KB 2596843, Security Update Powerpoint 2007
KB 2596954, Security Update Excel 2003

RichTextEditor crashes with
Websiteerror:
Line 620
Unknown Error

Process hangs and only End Task in Taskmanager can end this.
Testing the new Relaese 1.5.1.3 shows same error.
Any suggestions about this behaviour?

Thanks for any answer,
Roland

Hi Forum,
after analysing the problem a little bit deeper I´ve found out that a JavaScript in rte.js calls selectionRange = selection.createRange() .
This function is not supported in IE8, runnning in our WinXP environment. Mad
Downgrading to IE7 or deinstalling IE from the OS works fine.
I´m not sure why EPF crashes after the mentioned MS Office updates, but that´s what I could find out yet.

I´ve you are an exceptionally gifted JavaScript Developer rewrite the section around line 620 in rte.js and I will test it with IE8 Laughing

Regards,

R.
