i am getting this error on tomcat installation.

The Tomcat installation directory is not valid. It is missing expected file or folder lib/jasper-el.jar.


please help me in figuring out what is the cause for it and how can it be resolved. i have tried many things,even downloaded the new eclipse ide still the problem is there

I would suggest following the instructions in my notes below. This will
help you install Tomcat for developing web applications using Eclipse WTP.
