Peter,
I am not sure how you are running the reports, but if you are using two
task run task and then a render task (/frameset servlet mapping on
viewer) you should be able to do this with a page variable and some
script. Look at the attached example. The page variable is used in the
page header and totals the quantity field for each page.

Peter,
Currently page variables and pagination manipulation are only supported
with two phase operation,
