Print selection of a file [message #763226] Fri, 09 December 2011 11:31 Go to next message

Hi,

today I tried to print out a selection of a data file (simple txt-format) for further analysis. But Eclipse (Indigo on a Mac) seems only to be able to print out the whole file or one given range of pages, but not the selected lines. On the other hand, there's not possibility to find out the page number to a given line number.
So I could print out a test page, count the lines on it, go to the desired selection, divide the selections line number by the number of lines on a page and so on...
A short test showed that this affects text files as well as Java and C++ source files, so maybe it's a general problem.
I think, this is not a very comfortable and recent way and suggest adding possibilities to print out a selection and/or multiple page ranges (page 1;3-5;8;10).

Thx
Exq.

This should work, but you need to choose 'Selection' as page range in
the print dialog.

Hi Dani,

thanks for your reply.
I can't find the item "Selection" at all in the print dialog.
Where did you find it? Do you use Eclipse Indigo on a Mac?

The Print dialog comes from the OS. I'm on Windows 7.
