I have created and Eclipse RCP product, which we have been using running only within an Eclipse development environment. The product has a dozen or so plug-ins.

When I try to export the product, I get a message:

Missing requirement: IcarusZero 1.0.0.201112031028 (IcarusZero 1.0.0.201112031028) requires 'org.eclipse.equinox.preferences [3.3.0.v20100503]' but it could not be found

I have for several days tries to get my head around where this is coming from. All the other requirements are OK, and the files seem to be in directories where I expect them. But this is the only information that the export is giving me, and I have run out of leads to chase to find the problem.

Can anyone suggest where I might start looking, or maybe someone has encountered similar problems.

I am using Eclipse 3.6 on OSX.

The message is from p2 provisioning system trying to resolve it's requirements please double check what is defined in your target platform and the content of the product(dependencies tab). You might be missing some transitive dependencies.

You might also need the matching version of eclipse "delta pack" if you are trying to export to other then host platforms.
