If I open the Branches dialog, select a branch and click 'Delete', nothing happens. Version 1.2.0.201112010521. I imagine this is not intentional but one never knows.

I'm opening the dialog entitled "Branches" via the toolbar item whose tooltip says "Checkout branch, tag or reference". You can also get there via Team -> Switch To -> Other...

Error log shows nothing.

Thank you for reporting this. This was a regression I introduced while adding support for the 'Delete' key shortcut to the Git Repositories view.

I pushed a fix here for review: http://egit.eclipse.org/r/4707
