Hello,

I am facing an issue.

We have an eclipse product built over eclipse3.5

after launching eclipse product, when we try "Help > Check For Updates" it doesn't work, it gives message dialog: "Cannot complete the request. This installtion is not configured properly for Software Updates"

with below error message in .log file:
Could not locate the running profile instance. The eclipse.p2.data.area and eclipse.p2.profile properties may not be set correctly in this application's config.ini file.

stack trace :
org.eclipse.equinox.internal.provisional.p2.core.ProvisionException: Could not locate the running profile instance. The eclipse.p2.data.area and eclipse.p2.profile properties may not be set correctly in this application's config.ini file.

Same issue while trying "Help > Install New Software" and "Help > About Eclipse > Installation Details"

Important thing is :
when I run my eclipse product with "-clean" (eclipse.exe -clean) option then everything works fine.

but I don't want to put this "-clean" option everytime as it takes too much time.

I have been looking for solution since last three days Sad
