PDT 2 very slow with large files [message #84828] Wed, 26 November 2008 22:15 Go to next message

PDT 2 releases have been very slow in my computer when I'm editing large
PHP files (say, over 1000 lines). The larger the file, the larger the delay when
I type anything, up to a second for a 2k line file. Has anyone been experiencing
that? Any ideas to speed it up?

Thanks a lot!

One thing you can try is if you have code folding turned on, to turn
that preference off. I know that many SSE based editors have problems
with large files and code folding.

Thanks a lot Dave, your tip worked. Strange, because I wasn't
actually folding any parts of the code, so I wouldn't have imagined that
it was the bottleneck.
