Right justified should be the default. Any chance you can reproduce
this with the sample data? What version of BIRT are you using? Are you
just calling the report engine through a servlet?

When I run your report through my webapp (attached) it works fine.
A couple of things to try:
1 - change the report to fixed layout instead of auto (use General
properties for the report to change it)
2 - Turn off the center button in the grid containing cell.
