Hi All,

As you know, the Eclipse site provides links to many mirrors for
downloading the Eclipse platform
(http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/index.php).

What's bad about this approach is that most of these sites do not
have the latest version of Eclipse. I see Eclipse v3.1 M3 was
released on Nov. 5th. Of all the mirrors I checked only "SunSITE
CEUR (Aachen)" had this version available. One site did not even
have any drops from 2004.

Not all sites have the same drops available. I think having all
these inconsistent mirrors is confusing.

Even the Eclipse home page does not indicate that v3.1M3 is
available. I wish there was a more consistent and reliable way
for communicating new releases and making them available.

Hi,

Yes, Eclipse mirrors are an issue right now, and I am currently working
on restructuring the mirror sites so that

a) mirroring Eclipse is easier
b) mirroring Eclipse partially is easier
c) mirrors stay consistent with eclipse.org
d) mirrors are used more efficiently for downloading files

This is in the works..
