Is there any way to create a Derby Embedded DB with the dataEncryption=true and bootPassword=somePassword, through the eclipse data source explorer?

I tried the optional properties, under the optional tab but it didn't work.

You may need to update the JDBC URL in the Derby Embedded driver definition (Window->Preferences, Data Management->Connectivity->Driver Definitions) to add those properties.

You can update the URL to add additional properties (like "create=true") separated by semicolons.
