Hi Everybody!

I'm currently developing an RCP application based on pure e4 with eclipse 4.2M2. I've red that Tom Schindl is about to migrate some of the common tools from 3.x to 4.2. Is there any roadmap/plan for these activities?

Currently I'm searching for information about
- Help System
- About Dialog (including sub dialogs)
- Preferences
- Branding (e.g. app icon)
- Authentication/Authorization

Maybe I could contribute in migrating stuff. How is work organized?

Best
Markus

Hi,

I've not yet started the process of doing this and as far as I know the
IBM team has not enough resources for it. So it is up to us (=the
community) to step up and refactor the old code so that it can run in a
pure e4 env.

There are test dialogs in my simpleide project you can find at:
http://git.eclipse.org/c/e4/org.eclipse.e4.ui.git/tree/examples/org.eclipse.e4.demo.simpleide.dialogs
but I don't know if they still compile.

Tom

Hi,

I'll have a look at them and test them under 4.2.
But is there a public available road map?

Markus
