I just bought new pc and I am connecting it to my old HDD that had the WinOS installation and the Eclipse installation. I was trying to boot Eclipse from it (I have Eclipse in my new PC too) but I was getting a no JDK/JRE found error. I went to Eclipse.ini page in Eclipsepedia and made a new config file based on that example and chose the new jdk folder as the one and it worked. However, the main thing I want to do is to export my old settings, and starting Eclipse from any of my HDDs results to the default settings of Eclipse; it seems my old settings are erased.

Can anyone help me on that? Thank you in advance!

Edit: After searching a little, I found that I have to copy those 2 files from my old installation:
org.eclipse.jdt.ui.prefs for Syntax Coloring
org.eclipse.ui.editors.prefs for Text Editors

But nothing happens again.

Answered earlier in this forum on this very day!

File->Export->Preferences will give you a wizard to export the
preferences to a file.

File->Import->Preferences allows you to import them.

Thank you for replying, I really appreciate it. Although, I said in my post that opening Eclipse results in my default settings. As a result, I can't see my projects to the left, my settings, etc.

Edit: I finnaly found it out! I realized that the Eclipse workspace had changed, and since the settings are saved there, I simply changed workspace and pointed to my old one (the path was invald because c:\ was my new hdd, so I made it f:\ in my case).

I think it's clear that any diagnosis would depend on a crystal-clear
layout of the geometry of your thing. Explaining what you're trying to
do would help too. As it is, you just need to think logically about
having two separate Eclipse installations, what settings are in effect
in each and what workspaces you are opening (or failing to open) from
each. There is nothing mysterious about Eclipse which does not make use
of the Windows registry. Everything about it is containing either in the
eclipse subdirectory or in the workspace. I suspect that it's a
misunderstanding about your workspace that's creating the mystery for you.
