I have tried several ways to enable Eclipse C++ Development Tools.
I am currently trying it with Eclipse Galileo (but same error with Indigo too)
I am running under Windows XP Professional SP3

I am doing this from Help->Install New Software

I i always receive the following error:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=epp.package.java, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.provisional.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).
Problems downloading artifact: osgi.bundle,org.eclipse.cdt.core.win32,5.1.0.201002161416.
File has invalid content:C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\signatureFile5795888293468037519.jar
Invalid content:cdt_win32.jar
The file "cdt_win32.jar" in the jar "C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\signatureFile5795888293468037519.jar" has been tampered!

This has been frustrating...been trying for two days now and I need to get this working yesterday.
I hope someone can help.....

Looks like the CDT archive is broken. Or you run out of disk space.

(1) Cleanup unused files on C:\, and also delete the local JAR copy from
the "Temp" directory mentioned in the error message. Then try again.

(2) If this does not help, then possibly the copy on the update site
your Eclipse installation uses is broken. Then try downloading the CDT
package(s) from a different "Update Site".

You can change the "Update Site" list used for installing packages in
the Eclipse menu "Window" -> "Preferences" -> "Install/Update" ->
"Available Software Sites" (example given for Eclipse 3.5).

FYI: I changed the Eclipse settings so it showed all available versions of updates and not just latest. Then I installed the previous version of the Eclipse C++ Development tools which worked successfully Smile
