I tried everything to connect two ports in the IBD diagram editor of Papyrus: I used every possible combination of a node with IN/OUT/INOUT/X with another node of IN/OUT/INOUT/X. I assigned similar types to the ports, and even so I couldn't connect two nodes.

What am I doing wrong here?

No direction or type check are implemented that would restrict Connector creation between Port, FlowPort or Property.

Can you open a bug entry for this and provide your model (or any example so that I can try to reproduce) ?

Ok, its a common mistake, you cannot connect Block between them but only Parts.
One can connect 2 Parts (Property) trough Port or not, or a Block (through on of its Port) to its internal structure.

I have added a screen capture (on the bugzilla as an example)
