This second plea is a little vague, my friend. I would unobjectively
suggest three books (recognizing that this forum is absolutely not the
place to be doing this):
Bruce Eckels Thinking in Java (as a grammar or reference)
Head First Java (as a method or learning book)
Joshua Bloch's Effective Java (as a guide to best practice)
Next, I'd head over to JavaRanch.com to ask Java questions there. It's
really a friendly place with lots of willing ears. stackOverflow.com is
very good too.
