Greetings,

I'm proud to announce that today we released a new Eclipse-based protobuf editor as open source. I've been working on it for the past couple of months. I used Xtext 2.0 to create the editor, and honestly, it has been a great pleasure to use it!

Many thanks to the Xtext team for creating such a great framework!

Here is the official announcement of the protobuf editor: http://google-opensource.blogspot.com/2011/08/introducing-protobuf-dt-eclipse-editor.html

In addition, I'm proposing a session for EclipseCon where I plan to share experiences while working on this project: http://www.eclipsecon.org/europe2011/sessions/xtext-success-story-google%E2%80%99s-protobuf-dt

Best regards,
-Alex

That's quite wierd. I'm also currently developing a DSL for a companies internal (more complex) communication framework as my bachelor thesis. That's also why I'm currently 'annoying' the community with my every day question posts.

Thanks for publishing this your IDE. I'm sure it will give a lot of people good hints for working with Xtext.

Thanks for the nice words guys!

I'd really make my day if the code in this editor can benefit our xtext users. Of course, I'd love to hear if I did something stupid and ways to improve it!
