I have a project that currently uses BIRT 2.6.2. I am getting ready to start a new project, but want to use the new 3.X version of BIRT.

Is it possible and, if it is, how can I set up eclipse with multiple versions of BIRT? Do I just install the 3.X version on top of the existing 2.6? I don't want it to overwrite the older version, nor have it try and update the existing code.

Thanks.

And there are compelling reasons why the existing code can't be updated at this point.

I think the best approach in this case is to just setup a new location
for 3.7 install and run two instances of Eclipse. You can deploy 2.6.2
and 3.7 to two different contexts when deploying the viewer to an app
server.
